Hey guys recently have tried soloing the UW with the 55 monk and got my faced trampled into the ground. Is it still possible for monks to solo or duo the UW? Also I have a build for glints challenge which is a monk/elemental build, are these still viable? Any help would be much appreciated.

55monk is sort of dead for uw farming. There's really no reason to try it since there are better farms. Mo/W smite 100b works but the best is to go Signet of Spirits rit or Plains dervish.

For Glints you can use Whirling Defense perma ranger, Obby Earth Ele or afk hero team.

I guess will have to make another character rofl, or would I switch out the mesmer abilities for monk?

UW solo is best done by an SoS Rit or SF sin now, as the dying nightmares (enchant strippers) were specifically added a few years ago to counter the 55 monk farming.

It's still doable but you need to pull the skeles to the stairs and SS them down while staying out of Skeletal Splinters.

Then trigger/pull nightmares and wand them before aggroing aatxes

There are of course safer and faster methods.

You can still farm the UW as a 55 Monk. The best bar I found was Mo/N with SV and YMLaD for interrupting and killing the nightmares. Of course, this wasn't profitable in comparison to other, more new, methods.
The Mo/E build for farming Glint's probably doesn't work anymore.

They used to be able to farm plains, but the recent AI update fixed that. They can still farm pools though with Dwarven Stability and some alcohol.

Here is a great bit of advice for any new players for gw who either see builds on youtube or see old builds on pvx or gwpvx - always check the dates on them.
If they are several years old be wary as many things have changed in gw over the years and it will save a lot of time and effort as well as money wasted .
If unsure then post the build in the right forum area and players will say if its still working - note i say post the build as mods will close any posts that ask for builds etc ( its in the rules ).
